Which versions work?
Versioning is now available for updating a project's symbol styles programmatically.
Updating symbol styles in older projects works with the version 18.2 version 0 SP3 and laterand , but it is not compatible in the version 18.0 and 18.1 versionsSP2 or earlier.

Updating symbol styles will overwrite the existing styles. If you have manually made changes or added new features to the existing styles, those values will not be retained.

However, symbol styles may sometimes expose technical details that are not appropriate for that kind of audience. Concept ModelerThe modeling tool, therefore, offers to tweak the symbol styles called called Defaultand and Defined Elsewhere, which you .
You can update the symbol styles, defer updating the styles, or make Concept Modeler ask you or stop asking you about updating them by setting the Ask to update outdated symbol styles options to true or false. Expand the instructions below to see how to update the styling.
The The Ask to update outdated symbol stylesoption options, which prompts open the Update 'Default' symbol style dialog or Update 'Defined Elsewhere' symbol style dialog asking you to update symbol styles when styles are not updated, is set to True by default. However, if you set it to False, the message dialog will not be shown. In the following message dialog, if you select Yes, Concept Modeler will update your styles. If you select No, the prompt will continue to appear next time when loading an older when loading a Concept Modeling project with an older set of symbol styles.

In the Update 'Default' symbol style dialog and Update 'Defined Elsewhere' symbol style dialog, if you select Yes, the modeling tool will update the symbol styles. If you select No, you will defer updating the styles, and the dialogs will continue to appear next time when loading a Concept Modeling project with outdated symbol styles.
