When you need to reconnect the connector from one element to another, there are several possible options regarding the exchanges:
Choosing this option, the incompatible exchanges where source and target does not comply with new source and target, will be removed. This option is default.
When you reconnect the connector to a different element, a shortcut menu opens. In the shortcut menu, you can select to create a new <viewpoint name>* Exchange. The Realized <viewpoint name>* Exchange wizards opens where you can create a new Exchange to be realized instead of the previously realized exchanges.

When you reconnect the connector to a different element, a shortcut menu opens. In this shortcut menu, you can select to realize the exchanges, which exist between the sender and the new receiver. If the connector links ports, the conveyed items of the resulting exchanges would be ensured to adhere the flow properties on both ends of the connector.

Choosing this option, the end of the exchange will be updated to match the new sender or new receiver on the reconnected connector's end.

Visible only when the sender and receiver are not changed after reconnection, but the exchanges that were already realized become incompatible, meaning they no longer comply with the new flow properties on both ends of the connector.
