Creating Resources Connectivity diagram

To create a Security Connectivity diagram

1. Create resources.
2. Connect resources using Association.
3. Create Resource Exchanges flowing via Associations.

The Security Connectivity product also allows you to show the Capabilities. You can model internal structure of each resource directly in the compartment area of this element shape or using the  Security Structure diagram.

To create a Resource Exchange in Security Connectivity diagram

1. Open the Realized Resource Exchange wizard by doing one of the following:
   
   • On the diagram pane, select the Association between a pair of resources and on the smart manipulator toolbar, click .
   • Click  and on the diagram pane, connect resources.
   • Click the Control relationship and connect Organizational Resources.
   • Click the Command relationship and connect Physical Resources.
2. Select the Resource Exchange Kind from one of the following:
   • Command (between Organizational Resources)
   • Control (between Physical Resources)
   • Resource Exchange

3. Specify the Resource Exchange, Conveyed Item, and Direction.

   Only Data Element can be a Conveyed Item for the Command and Control relationships.

   
   

4. Click Next to specify Producing and Consuming Functions.
5. Click Finish when you are done.

If you did not specify the Conveyed Item while creating the Resource Exchange, you can set it later, directly in the diagram picking the needed element from the diagram palette.

To specify the Conveyed Item directly on the diagram pane

1. In the diagram palette, select the needed Conveyed Item.
2. Drag the selected Conveyed Item on to the needed Resource Exchange on the diagram pane. The Realized Resource Exchange wizard opens.
3. Follow the steps of the wizard.
4. Click Finish when you are done.
