With Resource Manager you can manage different types of resources, such as Profiles, Plugins, Templates, Language resources, Case studies/examples, Custom diagrams, and others. - In the Resource/Plugin Manager dialog, select the necessary plugin or other resources.
- Click Details. The dialog expands with the resource description at the bottom.
Installing resources from the .rdzip fileYou can install all resources at once from the .rdzip file or import selected resources individually. Alternatively, you can import resources from the server/shared repository using a link provided by your admin. Last but not least, you can share the .rdzip file you have internally. Where do I get the latest plugins (.rdzip) from? You can download an all plugins bundle from nomagic.com (please log in to see the Download area). Alternatively, you can import the .rdzip file from a server/shared local repository your admin gave a link to. |
Adding resources from a local file system You can add individual resources in a .zip format using the Import functionality, or you can add all resources (.rdzip file) at once via the Manage Resource Locations dialog that is used for defining the locations for adding the resources to the Resource/Plugin Manager.
To add selected resources
- Open Resource/Plugin Manager.
- Click the Import button at the bottom of the window and then select the resource in the .zip format to add to your modeling tool.
- Click Open. The selected resource is imported.
To add a resources bundle
- Open Resource/Plugin Manager.
- Click the button.
- In the Manage Resource Locations dialog, click Add.
- Select the .rdzip file on your file system and click Open. The resource location is added.
You can manage the list displayed in the Manage Resource Locations dialog by adding, removing, or reordering the resource locations.
Distributing resourcesYou can bundle your resources into one .rdzip file and then distribute that file on a, network share, or web server. To build the resources file, you need the Development Tools plugin to be installed. The Development Tools plugin can either be installed from the No Magic Server in the Resource/Plugin Manager, or can be found in the no-cost resource distribution file. Manage Resource LocationsThe Manage Resource Locations dialog is used for defining the locations from which the resources will be added to the Resource/Plugin Manager.
To open the Manage Resource Locations dialog
- In the Resource/Plugin Manager dialog, click the ... button.
In the Manage Resource Locations dialog, you will be able to see resource locations. You can manage this locations list by adding, removing, or reordering the resource locations.
- In the Manage Resource Locations dialog, click Add button. The Select Resource Location or Distribution File dialog opens.
- In the open dialog, select one of the following:
- Resource distribution file (.rdzip)
The resources from the Resource Distribution File will be listed in Resource/Plugin Manager dialog.
The resource distribution file (.rdzip) contains the resources and their descriptor file. If you are using the web server for the resource distribution, make sure that the resource distribution file (.rdzip) is extracted into the intended server location. |
- In the Manage Resource Locations dialog, click Add URL. The Resource Server URL dialog opens.
- In the open dialog, type or paste the server address.
- Click OK.
The resources from the selected location will be listed in the Resource/Plugin Manager.
- The No Magic server is not available for the Magic Software Engineer, Magic Systems of Systems Architect, and Magic Cyber Systems Engineer modeling tools.
