An appropriate JVM version should be installed on your computer.
Installing on Windows
- Double-click the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- To start Teamwork Server, do one of the following:
- On the Windows taskbar, click Start, and select MagicDraw Teamwork Server form the program list.
- Open MagicDraw Teamwork Server installation\bin and double-click the teamwork_server.exe file.
Adding / Removing Teamwork Server to Windows services
- Start Teamwork Server. The Teamwork Server dialog appears.
- Click the Add Windows Service button. After the service is added, do one of the following:
- Start this service from the Windows Services list.
- Reboot the computer and the Service will start automatically.
- To run the server, click the Start Server button.
This feature is available only on Windows operating systems.
Windows 7 OS and Windows Vista OS Firewall do not allow remote connections. After adding Teamwork Server to Windows 7 or Windows Vista services, you must add the Teamwork Server port number 1100 in Windows Firewall Exceptions list. Only then all remote connections to Teamwork Server will be allowed.
- Start Teamwork Server. The Teamwork Server dialog appears.
- Click the Remove Windows Service button.
This feature is available only on Windows operating systems.
Installing on OS X
- Double-click the installer.
- In the Teamwork Server installation window, drag the MagicDraw Teamwork Server folder to the Applications folder.
- Close the MagicDraw Teamwork Server installation window.
- To start Teamwork Server, open the Application / MagicDraw Teamwork Server installation folder and double-click the MagicDraw Teamwork Server.app file.
Installing on Unix
- Double-click the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- To start Teamwork Server, open the MagicDraw Teamwork Server installation/bin folder and double-click the teamwork_server file.
Starting Teamwork Server as a service on Linux
- Create a new service script file named “teamwork”.
Copy the following script code and paste it into the file:

Change the value of the TEAMWORK_HOME variable according to the path of the Teamwork Server installation bin folder.
Save the file and move it into the system directory “/etc/init.d”.
In the command line, type the following commands:
cd /etc/rc3.d ln -s ../init.d/teamwork S99teamwork
You can also configure the service for runlevel using the following command:
chkconfig --level 3 teamwork on
In the command line, type the following command:
service teamwork start
