This page is for those who used the CSV Import Plugin to import data into the model. As of the 2021x version, this plugin is deprecated and import functionality is covered by Excel/CSV Sync (import to table) and Excel/CSV Import (import to model) features.

All Import Maps or Map Groups created with the CSV Import Plugin can be reused by migrating them. The procedure outlined below shows how to import those maps:

To import data from the Import Maps or Map Groups created with the CSV Import Plugin

  1. Open the project containing the Import Maps/Map Groups created with the CSV Import Plugin.
  2. In the top left corner of the modeling tool, click the File > Import From > Excel/CSV File > Import Using Existing Map or Import Using Existing Map Group.
  3. In the CSV Import Map Migration message, select Yes.

To perform the migration of Import Maps or Map Groups later, make sure the Do not ask again check box is clear.

  4. In the Select Import Map or Select Map Group dialog, select Import Map or Map Group.

  5. Click OK. The Excel/CSV Import dialog opens.
  6. Select the file, check mapping options. How to >>
  7. Click the Import button.
    The data is imported.

A Map Group is migrated only if all Import Maps belonging to that Map Group are migrated at the same time. If at least one is not migrated, the whole Map Group will not be migrated.

If the CSV Import Map Migration message does not show again when trying to migrate the Import Map or Map Group, you can enable this option in the Project Options dialog. For this, follow the procedure below.

To enable the CSV Import Map Migration message

  1. From the main menu, select Options > Project.
  2. In the search box of the Project Options dialog, type "mig".
  3. On the right side of the Project Options dialog, set the Show Excel/CSV Import Migration Message option value to true to enable the functionality.
  4. Click OK.
