With the generic numbering mechanism you can number the elements by setting their IDs. There are two element numbering modes: automatic and manual. If you choose the automatic numbering mode, a number for an element will be created automatically according to a predefined numbering format. Using the manual numbering mode you can create a custom number format for the element.
Make sure that numbering customizations are already created.
