License deactivation is the process returning of activated licenses to the license pool. Such deactivation is needed if you:

  • Upgrade the modeling tool manually
  • Move you license to the another workstation
  • Install a new modeling tool version
  • Start using another modeling tool edition, and other.

 

License deactivation online

Prerequisites

  • Machine on which the modeling tool is installed has connection to the Internet.
  • You have the license activated for your modeling tool. 

Procedure 

  1. Start the modeling tool.
  2. Click Help > License Manager. The License Manager dialog opens.
  3. Click Deactivate. The modeling tool closes, your licenses are deactivated and may be used by other users. 

License deactivation offline

Prerequisites

  • Machine on which the modeling tool is installed has no connection to the Internet.
  • You have the license activated for your modeling tool. 

 

Procedure 

  1. Determine the License Deactivation ID of the machine on which the modeling tool is installed:

    1. Start the modeling tool.
    2. Click Help > License Manager. The License Manager dialog opens.
    3. Click Deactivate.
    4. In the HTTP Proxy Server Connection dialog, click OK.

    5. In the Offline License Deactivation dialog, copy the text from the License Deactivation ID box. 

      In case of multiple network adapters, the Host ID is encrypted.

    6. The modeling tool closes.

  2. Deactivate the license at nomagic.com:
    1. On the machine that has connection to the Internet, log in at nomagic.com as license owner.
    2. At the right side of the webpage, under Members, click License Activation Management.

    3. In the License Activation Management page, click the Create New License Activation Record button.
