Systems Safety Engineer
Released on: November 28, 2025
This release introduces a new plugin: Systems Safety Engineer. The plugin enables safety and quality assessments on systems architecture, supporting SAE J1739:2021 and AIAG VDA concepts.
Systems Safety Engineer
Safety and quality engineering are critical disciplines that ensure the development of safe, reliable, and resilient systems. Failure Mode Avoidance aimed to identify failure modes at an early stage of systems development to implement robust countermeasures
Based on the system architecture and following a Failure Mode Avoidance method, the Systems Safety Engineer plugin enables:
- The creation of the Boundary Diagram and Item to frame the scope: the relevant parts of the system to be analyzed.
- The creation of an item-based Interface Analysis table to study connections between system elements
- The creation of a Parameter Diagram to identify the measurable parameters that could affect the intended output of a given function.
- The creation of a Robustness Checklist to identify causality links between elements for a given function.
- The creation of a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis table
Systems Safety Engineer is RAAML-based and partially supports SAE J1739.
