This chapter explains how to install Magic Collaboration Studio on Windows in one of the following ways:
- Using the installer file (recommended). The installer file installs Magic Collaboration Studio and creates a Windows service. You will be asked to provide the required configuration values during the installation process.
- Using the no-installer file. If you choose this method, you will need to extract the file, configure the required parameters, and run Magic Collaboration Studio services on Windows.
Prerequisites
Before installing Magic Collaboration Studio, do the following:
- Make sure that your hardware and software meet the recommended system requirements.
- Download installation files.
- Magic Collaboration Studio uses a floating license, therefore, you need to have the FlexNet license server.
To install and configure Magic Collaboration Studio perform the following steps:
Install Apache Cassandra. (For the Cassandra version, see System requirements).
Cassandra installation file
To obtain the Cassandra installation file do one of the following:
- After downloading Magic Collaboration Studio installation files, extract the magic_collaboration_studio_<version_number>_no_install_win64.zip file. You will find the Cassandra installation file in the magic_collaboration_studio_<version_number>_no_install_win64\MagicCollaborationStudio\Utilities directory.
- Install Magic Collaboration Studio but do not start any of its services. Go to the <Magic_Collaboration_Studio_install_directory>\Utilities directory and obtain the Cassandra installation file. Install Apache Cassandra, check if it is working, and only then start the Magic Collaboration Studio services.
- Install Magic Collaboration Studio in one of the following ways:
Once the installation is complete, apply the Magic Collaboration Studio license so you could start working with the product.
