Quality and Safety disciplines are critical to ensure reliable and safe systems. The System Safety Engineer can perform a Design FMEA per SAE J1739:2021. Design FMEA is a type of FMEA that analyzes product design, focusing on potential design-related deficiencies to improve the design and ensure the product's safe and reliable operation during its useful life.
Based on the system architecture, the Systems Safety Engineer plugin enables:
- The creation of the Boundary Diagram and Item to finalize the scope (the relevant parts of the system to be analyzed).
- The creation of an item-based Interface Analysis table to study connections between functions.
- The creation of a Parameter Diagram to identify the measurable parameters that could affect the intended output of a given function.
- The creation of a Robustness Checklist to identify causality links between elements of a given function.
- The creation of a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis table
The Systems Safety Engineer is RAAML-based and partially supports SAE J1739.
